I Learned...

I learned that enjoying a night of drinks, food, and girlfriends is a wonderful way to celebrate friendship. We hardly ever get together without about 10 children running around us, so it was so nice to sit and actually hear the music in the background. We laughed, drank and ate. Thanks, Trisha for hosting such a fun evening!!

I also learned that although I like white lights on my tree, I LOVE colored light bokeh!!

Day 358

Happy Christmas Eve!  Even though we needed to run out the door to church, I made everyone run to the side of the house to get a family photo.  I couldn't find my remote (figures) so I'm running in moist soil in 3 inch heels to keep taking photos.  I'm sure our neighbors got a kick out of us.  I love Emma's look.  This is so her!

Day 357

The botanical gardens had an a great light display.  Some girls and I devised a wonderful plan, we would go at 5:15pm without the kids.  Sun would set at 5:30pm.  We would take pictures for 20 minutes or so just us.  Then the guys would bring the kids and we could just enjoy their joy of seeing the lights without worrying about photographing the lights.  Turns out, the people who are in charge of turning the lights on did not get my memo.  They didn't end up turning the lights on until 6pm which is when the guys and the kids showed up.  Therefore, we tried to enjoy the kids and take pictures.  It was a bit more hectic then we wanted but oh well.  The girls had fun seeing all the lights!

Day 355

We got to visit Santa today at the BX.  Don't the girls look cute in the Christmas outfits my mom made them :O)  After lots of convincing on the way to the BX, Kate decided to sit on Santa's lap.  Not much of a surprise, Emma did NOT enjoy him :O)  We got one of all the grandkids together but this one shows Emma true joy of the moment the best :O)

We are officially done decorating for Christmas. I did most of the decorations earlier this week but we finally put up the tree today. We have a thing where when we go on vacation we buy an ornament as our gift to remember our trip. When we went to Tokyo Disney they were not selling ornaments because it was Halloween. I was super bummed but I found this Cinderella ornament at the BX to remember our trip. Kate LOVES it! We did most of the tree before the girls woke up but I promised her we would let her put this ornament on. I didn't think any of these turned out so I took the second photo of my nativity scene. I love it!! I hope our girls are able to learn the REAL meaning of Christmas.
