Day 275

Heading home :O( Another beautiful day but it was time to go home. We were able to see Mt. Fuji from the plane though!! If you ever get a chance to go to Tokyo I definitely recommend it and if you are military you need to stay at the New Sanno!! It was only $64 a night!!

If you want to see a few more pictures from our trip to Tokyo check out Click It Up a Notch on Tuesday where I will post a few more pictures and have a giveaway in honor of our trip :O)

Day 274

Day 6 - The sun came out! We rode the train an hour and a half out of the city to see some shrines and one of the largest Budda statues. I loved getting out of the city to see some of the local community. I bought a beautiful umbrella (I know, I'm easy to please) that looks like the rice paper umbrellas but it is for the rain. We walked around some local shops and checked out the shrines and Budda statue. That thing was HUGE! I had high hopes of heading to the "Electric" district to take evening pictures of the city all light up, but I was reminded that life isn't always about what I want to do. Emma lost her mind on the train ride home that we had to just hop off at some random stop to get her to stop crying. Good times!! All and all it was a great trip!! We hope to go back once more before we move in a couple of years.

I know I'm cheating and posting more then one picture today but the sun had finally come out :O)

Day 273

Day 4 - More rain...boo!! We headed to Tokyo Meteroplotian Government Office Building up to the 45th floor to see some "amazing" views of the city. Unfortunately, because of the rain we weren't able to see much. Next, we headed to a 10 story electronic story. Talk about crazy and stimulation overload!

Day 272

Day 4 - Disneyland!!! What a perfect day! The weather was amazing and Kate was able to see Cinderella, Fairy Godmother, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Prince Phillip, Wendy, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, and the Mad Hatter. She got pictures and autographs of everyone. I think they enjoyed speaking to someone who spoke English. We watched two parades with Halloween themes. I was surprised to see the whole place decorated for Halloween. I'm not sure who had more fun, me and Ian finding the princesses for Kate to see or Kate meeting the princesses.

I am also submitting this in the Click It Up a Notch Picture Share since I used evaluative metering for this night shot!

Day 271

Day 3, still raining :O( But we weren't going to let that stop us. We headed to Shibuya St. where it is suppose to be the busiest intersection. It was still very busy but I'm sure if it wasn't raining it would have been even crazier. After we battled our way across though the umbrellas we found a Starbucks over looking it where we could dry off and take some photos. After that we headed to H & M (a little more American shopping) What a treat!!

Day 270

It was raining when we woke up so we decided to do our Ikea shopping that morning. I know, I know, why go all the way to Tokyo just to go to Ikea....well, it is because I already live in Japan and wanted a little bit of American shopping :O) Plus, I really wanted to get these boards so I could great this!! I was hoping to find some white picture frames but they only had creme. Oh well! We had lunch in the Ikea cafeteria. I have never had lunch at the Ikea's in the states, so I don't know if they have these carts there but they cracked me up :O) So much food!!

Day 269

We had so much fun in Tokyo!! After our plane ride and an hour and half train ride to get to our hotel we headed out :O) Ian figured out we could buy these passes, which we could just load money on them to ride the train system. What a time saver!! Plus, we felt like such locals with our passmo cards :O) I was hoping to find this amazing park where people dress up in interesting clothes, but unfortunately, we weren't able to find it but we still enjoyed walking around the city.
