Day 365

Whoo hoo!! I did it!! I could not have done it without the amazing support and encouragement I received from so many of you fellow 365ers. I'm actually quite sad to close this chapter of my life. I am going to do another one next year but realize some of you are not. I will miss seeing your pictures daily and getting to "know" you. I feel as if I have made some sweet friends from this project! Thank you again! If you are doing a 52 week or another 365 please let me know! I would love to continue to follow y'all. I will be doing another 365 but at my Click it Up a Notch blog. Hope you will follow along for another year of fun!!

Day 361

I know I really slacked off on my Monday Me but I couldn't miss the last one. I can't believe this is the last Monday in this Project 365.

I am trying to spend more time reading to the girls. I used to read to Kate all the time but Emma hasn't shown as much of an interest (maybe because I wasn't reading as much) I am making it part of our day now to spend time reading other then bed time :O)

In other news, some girlfriends and I got together tonight for a "Girls Holiday Party" with no kids :O) It was so nice and relaxing!

Also, I ordered my new lens today - a 20mm 2.8. Does anyone have one of these?? Do you love it?? I can't wait to get it!

Day 360

One of my favorite gifts Kate received was a digital camera from her Godfather, Brian, (thanks Liz for helping him pick that out :O) She actually got one from her grandma too but we opened this one first and already had it out of it's package by the time came across the other one.  She spent most of the morning taking tons of photos.  I would love it if she develops a passion for photography.  I love how she is posing her doll for a photo...I wonder where she gets that from :O)  I couldn't decide between the two photos so you get two :O)

Day 359

Merry Christmas!!  I sure hope you were able to enjoy the birth of Christ with your family and loved ones.  We had a nice relaxing morning opening presents, skyping with family, and eating our traditional creme brulee french toast (thanks, Megan for the yummy recipe)  We spent the afternoon finding homes for all their new toys.  Later that night we had Kathleen and a few friends over for dinner and games.  We had a great time and are thankful for our family and great friends here.  I feel like a bad photographer but good mom because I took a few photos in the morning but took the rest of the day off to enjoy my husband, girls and guests.

Emma got this toy and refused to open any more presents :O)

Day 355

We got to visit Santa today at the BX.  Don't the girls look cute in the Christmas outfits my mom made them :O)  After lots of convincing on the way to the BX, Kate decided to sit on Santa's lap.  Not much of a surprise, Emma did NOT enjoy him :O)  We got one of all the grandkids together but this one shows Emma true joy of the moment the best :O)

Day 353

My mom made this dress for me when I was Kate's age.  A few months ago, she mailed me a ton of smocked dresses that were mine and Kathleen's when we were younger.  I asked her to scan me a photo of me wearing this dress.  Just wished she looked more like me as a kid than Kathleen.  Oh well :O)

Day 350

Isn't it great when  you get out your Christmas decorations and you forgot you had something?  That is my favorite!  Last year I bought this book/nativity set.  Basically, there are 7 boxes to open one a day.  In each box there is a little doll representing someone at the nativity scene.  The first day was the Angel of the Lord - Gabriel.  There is a little story about each character.  The second day was Mary.  Before we started I asked Kate who the Angel from yesterday was.  She responds with "Library".  Mmm...not quite :O)

Here she is telling Emma and Gus all about Mary and Gabriel.  I hope she doesn't forget the real reason we celebrate Christmas!

I Learned...

I learned I'm obsessed with collages. I have used tons of them on my family blog :O) I spent most of nap time yesterday creating some of my own. It's a fun new obsession :O)

Day 348

She was so excited that Santa was going to come to her school.  She had been talking about it for several days.  However, this was the look on her face when she saw him that day.  She cried and refused to sit on his lap.  ha ha

Day 345

Not a whole lot going on today!  Kate asked me to build a tunnel which kept her busy for quite a while :O)

Day 338

We are officially done decorating for Christmas. I did most of the decorations earlier this week but we finally put up the tree today. We have a thing where when we go on vacation we buy an ornament as our gift to remember our trip. When we went to Tokyo Disney they were not selling ornaments because it was Halloween. I was super bummed but I found this Cinderella ornament at the BX to remember our trip. Kate LOVES it! We did most of the tree before the girls woke up but I promised her we would let her put this ornament on. I didn't think any of these turned out so I took the second photo of my nativity scene. I love it!! I hope our girls are able to learn the REAL meaning of Christmas.

As I was unloading groceries, I heard Kate say to Jackson, "I need to lift up my shirt to feed my baby."

Day 329

Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope everyone enjoyed some relaxing time with family and/or friends. One of the many benefits of living on the same island as my sister is we are able to celebrate holidays together. We headed over to her house and enjoyed the best deep fried turkey yet! Ian did an amazing job!!! We ate, ate, and then played some board games. I am so stinkin' competitive that I didn't like the first game (I kept losing), but I liked the second game :O)

Day 327

Kate may be one of the girliest girls I know. She loves princess', wearing dresses, and playing pretend. Glad to see it isn't all tiara's and high heels for this one :O) Wondering how I made the rounded corners? Check out my tutorial at Click It Up a Notch - Rounded Corners Tutorial

Day 325

We went to brunch today to celebrate a friend's son's baptism :O) As we were leaving we told all the kids to line up at the door (anything to get them to stop running around). Next thing we know they have made themselves a little choo-choo train :O)

Day 320

The last couple of days Kate has decided that Jackson, her cousin, is her prince. Today when they showed up, she says "Oh! It's Jackson, my prince!" Of course, she uses her best princess voice as she walks on her tip toes. I don't have the heart to tell her she can't marry him. They are the best buddies!

Day 315

I did it! I took my family out and took our own family photo for our Christmas card. I have to admit, it wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be :O). I would love to show you the ones I am trying to choose from but that will give away all the fun of the picture :O) Here is one I captured though of the girls running towards each other. I don't understand why they can't be that sweet all the time!

Day 314

I took another shot at making bread today :O) Last time with the french bread it was a bust :O) The bread was super dense and just okay. It wasn't the worst bread I've ever had but it wasn't the best. Today, Kate wanted to help and we are making Cinnamon Raisin Bread (I say making because although I took this picture 7 hours ago we are still making them...darn rising :O) It is suppose to make 3 loaves, fingers crossed they are good.

In this picture Kate is talking about the raisins. I am really loving talking pictures while she is talking because I think you can get some great expressions! So real and totally her!

Day 310

We headed to a friend's house for pizza tonight. Trisha decided to paint the girls' faces :O) They loved them and were having fun being butterflies, until Trisha tried to wash the paint off her fingers and the purple wasn't coming off. Normally, that would not be a problem but tomorrow is Emma's baptism and I really didn't want Kate's face to be stained purple. I panic and wash it off her face but it wasn't until we got out the make-up remover that it really started to come off :O) What is funny is as we were driving home I realized Ian got a sunburn on his face today and I got my hair colored (much darker then I wanted) so really a purple face on Kate would have looked fine :O)
